Roberto De Zerbi said Sunday's match against Everton is Tottenham's "final" after a 2-1 defeat at Chelsea left survival hanging on the last day.
De Zerbi argued Spurs played well for much of the night but paid for poor final-third execution and a costly error before Chelsea's second goal, saying the last 20 minutes showed the energy and passion he wants.
James Maddison is fit for only 20 to 25 minutes, De Zerbi said, adding he will follow medical advice and believes Tottenham can stay up with or without the midfielder.
The coach refused to dwell on Micky van de Ven's penalty claim, saying arguments over officiating would drain focus from a game he framed as more important than a trophy because it concerns the club's pride, history and dignity.
