Zach Dembo won Kentucky’s 6th District Democratic primary Tuesday, advancing to the November race for the House seat being vacated by Rep. Andy Barr.
39% of the vote was enough to top a crowded field; Cherlynn Stevenson took 32% and Erin Petrey 16%, according to earlier reported results.
Dembo, a former federal prosecutor, Navy JAG officer and Beshear aide, framed his candidacy around opposition to what he called Trump’s weaponization of the Justice Department.
