Matt Brown Blasts Ronda Rousey’s 17-Second Win Over 17-Year-Inactive Gina Carano

Matt Brown said Ronda Rousey’s 17-second armbar over Gina Carano did not redeem her career, calling the comeback “cringe from top to bottom” despite ending with a victory.
Brown argued the win carried little weight because Carano had not fought in 17 years and looked overmatched immediately, surrendering a takedown before the first-round submission.
Rousey’s promotion of the bout drew much of his criticism: Brown said she spent the buildup attacking UFC figures including Hunter Campbell and projecting a “vengeful” image rather than humility.
That, he said, squandered a chance to repair relations with fans after her two knockout losses and long silence about defeats to Holly Holm and Amanda Nunes.
Rousey has already retired again after the bout, saying she plans to grow her family, though she has hinted at a possible executive role with Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions.
