Carlos Alcaraz said he will miss Wimbledon after already pulling out of the French Open, sidelining the world No. 2 from both majors because of a lingering right-wrist injury.
The 23-year-old hurt the wrist at the Barcelona Open in April and has since withdrawn from Madrid, Rome, Roland Garros and now Wimbledon rather than risk longer-term damage.
Wimbledon will be the first edition Alcaraz has missed since turning pro in 2020; after reaching the second round in 2021 and fourth round in 2022, he won the title in 2023 and 2024 before losing the 2025 final to Jannik Sinner.
The setback interrupts a season that began with his 2026 Australian Open title over Novak Djokovic and shifts attention to whether he can return for the U.S. Open in late August.
Will Alcaraz's injury force a rethink of the powerful playing styles that now define elite men's tennis?
