Bothell Officer Shoots 19-Year-Old Suspect After Gun Is Pointed During Traffic Stop

A 19-year-old man was hospitalized overnight and listed in stable condition after deputies linked him to a Bothell police shooting that began just after midnight.
The confrontation started after an officer stopped a car for an illegal U-turn near Bothell-Everett Highway, where one suspect ran, another moved into the driver’s seat, and a gun was pointed at the officer.
Multiple shots were fired as the vehicle backed into the officer’s cruiser several times in a 7-Eleven parking lot before speeding away.
About 1 hour later, the wounded 19-year-old was dropped off at a Burien hospital and later transferred to Harborview Medical Center.
The suspects’ car was later found abandoned in Burien, no officers were injured, and all other suspects remained outstanding Tuesday.
