Pokémon GO Brings Free 2-Day Fest to Melbourne as Mega Mewtwo Debuts Globally

Melbourne will host a local Pokémon GO Fest 2026 event at Queensbridge Square, Southbank, on July 11-12, with in-person photo ops, free Pikachu visors, and spaces for trading, raiding and group play.
The gathering coincides with Pokémon GO Fest 2026: Global, which Niantic says will be free for all players for the first time and will run in-game from 10am-7pm AEST each day.
Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y will debut through Super Mega Raid Battles, while Special Research will introduce Zeraora to the game for the first time.
Players across the weekend will also get boosted Shiny encounter chances, up to 9 free Raid Passes per day, bonus trading features, expanded Gift limits and rotating hourly Pokémon spawns.
