Bonhams has put Diane Keaton’s personal effects on display in West Hollywood before moving the sale to New York, where the live auction “The Architecture of an Icon” is set for June 8.
More than 150 clothing lots anchor the offering, including Keaton’s signature black bowler hat, a sequined Gucci suit, a 2021 Lacma gala beret and her 2020 Oscars Ralph Lauren suit.
The exhibition also highlights a large section of Keaton’s 8-by-30-foot home collage, film materials such as an original “Annie Hall” script, and personal art by figures including David Wojnarowicz and Jack Nicholson.
Bonhams is framing the auction as one of four Keaton-themed sales, using her worn-in clothes, photographs, books and collected curios to present a broader portrait of the actor’s design eye and lifelong habit of collecting.
