34-year-old infielder Gio Urshela announced Monday that he is retiring from Major League Baseball, calling it time to “close this chapter” after 10 seasons.
Urshela spent his biggest years with the Yankees from 2019 to 2021, though he also played for Cleveland, Minnesota, the Angels, Detroit, Atlanta and the Athletics.
2025 marked his final MLB season with Oakland, where he hit .238 with 20 RBI in 59 games after also joining Colombia in the World Baseball Classic.
