Kate Scott used Indiana's win over Seattle to push back on criticism of Caitlin Clark's turnovers, noting Clark had generated 38 Fever points with under 10 minutes left.
Clark still finished that game with five turnovers, but she also shot 5-of-10, hit all nine free throws and handed out 10 assists while controlling the ball for much of the night.
Scott argued the turnover totals should be viewed alongside playmaking volume, comparing Clark's numbers with NBA assist leaders Nikola Jokic and Cade Cunningham, who also average about four turnovers.
Clark opened the 2026 season with 11 turnovers in her first two games and four more against Washington after missing most of last season with two injuries, but she has never led the WNBA in turnovers.
The current league leaders are Atlanta's Angel Reese at 5.3 turnovers per game and Minnesota's Natasha Howard at 5.0, with Indiana next facing the Portland Fire on Tuesday.
