Apple is reportedly moving ahead with an iPhone Air 2 for its usual autumn launch event, despite weak demand for the first model.
The sequel is aimed at fixing the original Air’s biggest complaints: a single 48-megapixel rear camera and short battery life that hurt the ultra-thin phone’s appeal.
Leaks point to a second 48-megapixel ultra-wide lens, a likely A20 Pro chip on 2nm technology, and possibly higher battery density to improve endurance without losing the slim design.
Display changes could also help: Apple may adopt Samsung’s CoE OLED approach, which cuts panel thickness and power use, potentially freeing internal space for a larger battery.
The timing remains debated between late 2026 and early 2027, but the project suggests Apple still sees the Air line as a non-foldable path for thinner iPhones.
