Aug. 21 is the target date for Texas Tech quarterback Will Hammond to be cleared for all football activities, coach Joey McGuire said, putting the redshirt sophomore on track for an early-season return.
June 7-on-7 work is already in view because Hammond has resumed throwing and received a strong medical report, with McGuire saying the staff believes he is ahead of schedule but will not rush him.
