86% of partisan commencement speakers at U.S. News top 100 universities this year were Democratic or Democratic-leaning, according to a College Fix review of main or undergraduate ceremonies.
The report identified just 6 Republican or right-leaning speakers, including Arthur Brooks at Vanderbilt, Dario Gil at RPI and Mike Huckabee, scheduled to speak at Yeshiva University on May 28.
Democratic speakers spanned elected officials, judges, entertainers and authors, with Gretchen Whitmer at Michigan State, Raphael Warnock at Georgia Tech and Sarah Jessica Parker at Northwestern among those cited.
The findings land amid broader complaints that conservative speakers face resistance on campus, after Chloe Cole canceled a University of Washington appearance over alleged threats and South Carolina's lieutenant governor said a commencement invite was withdrawn.
