September 11 is the release date for Haruomi Hosono’s 23rd studio album, “Yours Sincerely,” his first LP since 2019’s “Hochono House,” arriving via Ghostly International.
The 78-year-old Yellow Magic Orchestra co-founder said the title grew from the Japanese concept omoiyari, which he described as holding both “to suffer together” and “rejoicing together.”
Hosono said he is embracing both his past and future musical selves, describing “two musical worlds” within him as he looks toward “unknown music” still to come.
Two U.S. dates with Toro y Moi will support the album later in September: September 16 at Radio City Music Hall in New York and September 20 at the Greek Theatre.
