Surveillance video shows a man in a green T-shirt and tan pants throwing a beer keg through Georgetown Cupcake’s front window around 11 p.m. Sunday while employees were still inside.
The bakery’s owners, sisters Sophie LaMontagne and Katherine Berman, said workers could have been seriously injured and asked the public to help identify the suspect.
The shop, at 33rd and M streets in Georgetown, posted interior and exterior footage on X and directed anyone with information to contact Metro police at 202-730-1903.
The vandalism follows other recent disorder in Washington, including a teen brawl at a Navy Yard Chipotle, as U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro has pledged a tougher response to youth crime.
