Four days after his arrest, Andriy Yermak was released Monday on €2.7 million bail in a Ukrainian anti-corruption case tied to a luxury housing project outside Kyiv.
NABU and SAP say up to €9 million was laundered from 2021 to 2025 through construction of a high-end residential complex in Kozyn, allegedly financed via a corruption scheme centered on state nuclear monopoly Enerhoatom.
Prosecutors say the plan covered four private mansions of about 1,000 square meters each and a shared spa-and-pool wellness complex; one of the houses was allegedly intended for Yermak.
Yermak said he could not pay bail himself and would rely on friends; he and his lawyer deny wrongdoing, plan to appeal, and he faces up to 12 years in prison if convicted.
