ICE Agent Christian Castro Faces 5 Charges in Minneapolis Shooting, Warrant Issued

Minnesota prosecutors charged ICE agent Christian Castro with four counts of second-degree assault and one count of falsely reporting a crime, and a nationwide warrant was issued over the Jan. 14 shooting of Julio Cesar Sosa-Celis.
Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty said Castro shot Sosa-Celis in the leg after federal agents chased another man into a Minneapolis duplex where both men lived legally.
Video published in April appeared to undercut agents' original account that the men attacked officers with a shovel and broom handle; authorities later accused agents of lying under oath.
The case follows dropped charges against the immigrants in February and adds to scrutiny of federal agents in Minnesota after local prosecutors struggled to pursue other deadly incidents.
