$205 million for HCMC and a $500 million reserve for distressed hospitals cleared the Minnesota House and Senate in the session’s final two hours before Sunday’s midnight deadline.
The broader package included a $1.2 billion cash-and-borrowing bonding bill for infrastructure, $254 million to cut vehicle tab fees for one year after Jan. 1, 2027, and $125 million in property tax relief.
Earlier Sunday, lawmakers also passed anti-fraud measures, including expanded electronic visit verification for high-risk Medicaid home-care services and upgrades to outdated county human-services systems.
All agreed bills now head to Governor Tim Walz after lawmakers completed the measures negotiated with him last Wednesday; the session continues Monday only for ceremonial farewell speeches.
