Amazon Prime Video has launched “Off Campus,” a TV adaptation of Elle Kennedy’s five-book romance series centered on college hockey players.
Louisa Levy, the show’s creator and showrunner, said the adaptation leans into the genre’s core appeal: hockey’s aggressive masculinity paired with sexually charged romance.
The release arrives as hockey romance has already become a strong-selling publishing niche, with series such as Hannah Grace’s Maple Hills and Liz Tomforde’s “Mile High” reaching millions of readers.
That audience widened in late 2025 when “Heated Rivalry,” adapted from Rachel Reid’s novels, pushed hockey romance further into the mainstream on screen.
