New York erased a 93-71 deficit with 7:52 left and stunned Cleveland 115-104 in overtime in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals at Madison Square Garden.
Jalen Brunson drove the turnaround with 38 points, including 16 in the fourth, as the Knicks closed on a 44-11 run across the fourth quarter and overtime.
Donovan Mitchell, who scored 29 points with six steals, called the collapse bluntly in the locker room and said Cleveland must study the film and respond in Game 2.
