North Lanarkshire Council renewed its agreement with council-owned Routes to Work to keep delivering targeted employment support for residents of all ages.
More than 2,000 residents are due to be supported over the next year through a new all-age service and continued parental employment programmes.
1,434 people found work through the scheme in the past year, beating targets, and 71% were still employed after 26 weeks.
Support is aimed at unemployed residents and those facing barriers such as low income, health issues, caring duties or justice-related challenges, with help including training, work experience, childcare and travel costs.
The renewed partnership fits the council's wider anti-poverty and economic opportunity plan, with referrals available through North Lanarkshire's Working service.
How will this scheme ensure its 'sustainable jobs' are not just temporary fixes for long-term unemployment?
As Lanarkshire becomes an AI hub, will this program create high-tech careers or just fill low-wage jobs?
