SSI supports people with limited income who are blind, age 65 or older, or have a qualifying disability.
Individual recipients can receive up to $994, couples up to $1,491, and essential caregivers up to $498.
Recipients must also meet citizenship or eligible noncitizen rules, live in the 50 states, Washington, D.C., or the Northern Mariana Islands, and avoid leaving the U.S. for 30 consecutive days.
