Applications have opened for PTDF’s 2026 postgraduate scholarship scheme, which will fund Nigerian MSc and PhD students in local and selected overseas institutions; the deadline is June 5, 2026.
The programme covers full tuition, living and accommodation support, research assistance, health insurance, and flight tickets for overseas scholars, while local scholars may receive annual stipends of about ₦700,000 plus laptops for eligible candidates.
PTDF said the scholarships target priority fields tied to Nigeria’s oil, gas, and energy industries, including petroleum engineering, geosciences, renewable energy, environmental technology, computer science, and data science and AI.
Eligible applicants must be Nigerian citizens, have at least a Second Class Upper degree for MSc entry, meet PhD academic requirements where applicable, and have completed NYSC.
Overseas awards are available through partner institutions in the UK, Germany, France, and Malaysia, reflecting PTDF’s broader push to build indigenous technical capacity for the energy sector.
