A 1.4 average put Hirokazu Koreeda’s Sheep In The Box at the bottom of Screen’s 2026 Cannes jury grid, with one critic score still outstanding.
Two zero-star ratings from Ahmed Shawky and Mathieu Macheret dragged down the film, while only NT Binh went as high as three stars; the rest were one- and two-star notices.
The score is Koreeda’s weakest Cannes jury-grid showing yet, below Broker’s 1.9 in 2022 and far under Shoplifters’ 3.2, the 2018 Palme d’Or winner.
