50 million reais ($9.9 million) must be deposited by Sigma Mineração within 10 days under an emergency injunction tied to alleged damage from the Grota do Cirilo lithium operation.
The order stems from a collective lawsuit filed by state prosecutors seeking safeguards for communities affected by the mine.
Sigma must also fund independent technical advisers chosen by those communities, create an optional emergency resettlement program and pay for public health measures.
Nighttime operations judged noisy must be suspended from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., adding immediate operating constraints while the case proceeds.
