Barbra Streisand will miss the 79th Cannes Festival closing ceremony on May 23, though the festival said its planned Honorary Palme d'Or tribute will go ahead.
Doctors advised Streisand not to travel as she continues recovering from a knee injury, forcing her to skip the Grand Théâtre Lumière event in Cannes.
The festival said the tribute will still celebrate Streisand's career as an actress, director, producer, screenwriter, singer and songwriter, and organizers wished her a prompt recovery.
The closing ceremony, hosted by Eye Haïdara, is scheduled for 8:15 p.m. local time on May 23 and will be broadcast live on France Télévisions.
