Cate Blanchett and Selena Gomez have been cast in Brady Corbet’s next feature alongside Michael Fassbender, expanding the ensemble for the director’s follow-up to “The Brutalist.”
A 200-page script and rare eight-perf 65mm cameras point to another oversized Corbet project; he has described it as genre-defying, predominantly set in the 1970s and spanning from the 19th century to today.
Plot details remain secret, though earlier reports identified the film as the X-rated western “The Origin of the World,” now in pre-production with Andrew Morrison producing.
The project will be Corbet’s fourth feature after “The Childhood of a Leader,” “Vox Lux” and Oscar-nominated “The Brutalist,” underscoring rising expectations around his next film.
