Sherman Oaks drew a line of supporters Saturday as Spencer Pratt spent more than two hours shaking hands, hugging voters and posing for photos at a public campaign stop in rival Nithya Raman’s council district.
The event showcased the message fueling his insurgent bid: tougher law enforcement, a “treatment first” homelessness approach and a plan to raise LAPD staffing to 12,500 officers from about 8,600 over the next decade.
Voters who attended cited garbage, crime, open-air drug use, homelessness and frustration with the slow recovery from the 2025 Palisades fire, which also destroyed Pratt’s home and has become a central attack line against Mayor Karen Bass.
With the June 2 election nearing, Pratt has been polling behind Bass while trading second and third with Raman, but he recently turned in a strong debate performance and has outpaced rivals in fundraising.
