Sutherland said Friday he is scrapping the U.S. leg of his tour, which had been due to start in New York in July, because sales were too weak to justify playing half-empty venues.
The 59-year-old said the move was meant to be fair to fans who already bought tickets and to venues; refunds will be issued through the original point of purchase.
Two U.S. dates still appear on his website — a Connecticut casino show in June and a Las Vegas resort date in July — while he continues the current U.K. run with stops including Manchester, Belfast, Dublin and Cardiff.
The cancellation comes just before the May 29 release of his fourth album, "Grey," whose songs were written and recorded from 2024 to 2026 and, he said, reflect more personal themes.
