October brought Vicky and her Freewheelin Dance team gold in the Adult Inclusive Dance category at the West Oxfordshire Open Inclusive Dance Championships.
The win capped years of progress at Cerebral Palsy Midlands in Harborne, where wheelchair dance became one of her favorite activities despite quadriplegic and athetoid cerebral palsy.
Her family says the achievement carries extra weight after a traumatic period in 2020, when Vicky reported a sexual assault at an assisted living facility and a police investigation later closed for lack of evidence.
Now in a more supportive home, Vicky has regained confidence through dancing, friendships, holidays and karaoke, with another competition later this month offering a chance for more gold.
