Persistent rain at Indianapolis Motor Speedway wiped out Saturday’s opening qualifying day, forcing IndyCar to move the full Indy 500 grid-setting program to Sunday.
Sunday’s revised schedule starts with practice at 9:30 a.m., followed by qualifying at noon, when each of the 33 cars gets one run and positions 13-33 are locked in.
The top 12 then advance to a 4 p.m. Fast 12 session, with the Fast Six immediately afterward deciding pole for next weekend’s race.
IndyCar also dropped the previously proposed Final 15 round under the condensed format; the 110th Indianapolis 500 remains set for May 24.
