Curry Barker said he is considering either Obsession 2 or a one-hour anthology series as his horror breakout opens in theaters.
The follow-up idea comes even as Barker publicly called the film’s One Wish Willow logic a plot hole, saying a world where everyone gets one real wish should look far stranger than the mostly normal setting onscreen.
He floated an alternate-reality explanation for each wish, but said that theory also breaks down because one character’s money wish visibly affects the shared world.
Barker said an anthology most excites him: each episode would follow a different wish going off the rails, potentially with him directing the pilot and other filmmakers handling later installments.
Any return to Obsession would fit around a busy slate that already includes Blumhouse’s Anything but Ghosts and A24’s Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
