NewsBusters counted 205 conservative-targeted jokes in SNL’s first 19 episodes, versus 18 aimed at liberals and three nonpartisan lines.
Trump drew more than 100 punchlines—nearly half the total measured—and remained the dominant figure on “Weekend Update” and in cold opens.
Cold-open portrayals also skewed heavily rightward, with 49 Republican-focused depictions compared with 10 centered on Democrats and one nonpartisan portrayal.
The Media Research Center’s watchdog said the findings extend a longer trend: its October review put 82% of the prior season’s jokes in the conservative-targeted category.
