June 10 is the new date for ActBlue CEO Regina Wallace-Jones to appear before the House Administration Committee over allegations she misled Congress about the platform’s ability to block illegal foreign donations.
A New York Times report cited internal 2023 legal warnings that ActBlue may have misrepresented its vetting of potentially illegal foreign contributions, a charge Wallace-Jones denies.
Republicans say ActBlue also gave subpoena responses that were deliberately incomplete, and an interim staff report said five current or former employees invoked the Fifth Amendment 146 times in April depositions.
The hearing lands as ActBlue faces senior legal and compliance departures and just after Steil’s committee unanimously advanced a bill tightening rules on fraudulent and foreign political donations.
