Prime Video began streaming “Off Campus” on Wednesday, adapting Elle Kennedy’s college hockey romance books into a series that opens with team captain Garrett Graham and Hannah Wells in a fake-dating plot.
A 2-week hockey boot camp and skating auditions were used to make the on-ice action credible, with former pro Dave Tomlinson training the cast and stunt doubles handling some larger sequences.
The launch arrives as hockey romance gains momentum from HBO’s “Heated Rivalry,” though creator Louisa Levy and cast members stressed that “Off Campus” targets a different lane with a college setting and rotating couples.
Season 2 is already set to begin filming soon, shifting focus to Logan and Grace while Season 1 leads Belmont Cameli and Ella Bright say their characters will remain part of the ensemble.
