Enbridge said it would “definitely” consider supporting a new west coast oil pipeline, offering an early industry endorsement just hours after Ottawa and Alberta struck an energy pact.
The Canada-Alberta deal opens the way for construction of a pipeline able to move 1 million barrels a day of Canadian crude to British Columbia’s coast.
That route would let Canada ship more oil to Asian buyers, broadening export access beyond existing markets and making west coast capacity the central strategic prize.
