Launched on May 7 in Bangkok, Huawei’s WATCH FIT 5 Series adds Curve Pay, letting users make NFC contactless payments directly from the watch without a phone or wallet.
Curve Pay combines multiple bank cards in one account, while the watch’s off-wrist detection triggers a passcode if removed before payments or other sensitive features can be used.
Huawei pitched the device at European consumers as a lightweight, phone-free wearable for daily use and exercise, with features including Mini-Workout mode, stretching prompts and cycling auto-detection.
A Curve Pay promotion running from April 30 to May 29 offers eligible users a chance to win 1 of 50 Huawei watches, including the new WATCH FIT 5.
The launch extends Huawei’s push into wearable-first payments across the EU, UK, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein as contactless payments become more embedded in everyday spending.
