Dental records identified remains found this week at an Everman home as Noel Rodriguez-Alvarez, the 6-year-old boy missing since March 2023.
Investigators recovered the remains during a coordinated excavation on Wisteria Drive and still have not determined how or when Noel died as forensic testing continues.
Authorities believe Noel was last seen alive in October 2022; they later found false the claim that he was living with his biological father in Mexico.
Cindy Rodriguez, 41, was already charged with capital murder, extradited from India in 2025 after landing on the FBI Ten Most Wanted list, and was ruled incompetent to stand trial in April 2026.
With his mother ruled incompetent for trial, will justice for Noel ever be served?
