A Flood Watch remains in effect for Kauai, Oahu and Maui County, where heavy rain and a few thunderstorms could trigger flooding through the weekend.
Strong trade winds interacting with an unstable weather system aloft are focusing the heaviest showers on windward and mountain areas, with rain capable of falling quickly in short bursts.
Wet, windy conditions are expected to persist through Sunday morning before the upper-level disturbance weakens Saturday and moves away by Sunday.
