A New York traffic camera ticketed Volo Museum’s KITT replica for driving 36 mph in a 25 mph zone in Brooklyn, even though the car is displayed outside Chicago and has never left the museum.
The notice included a photo of a black Pontiac Trans-Am with California plate “KNIGHT” — the same plate used on the Knight Rider car and on the museum’s replica.
Volo Museum said it does not know how the New York citation was linked to its Illinois display car, and city officials had not explained the apparent mismatch.
The same Trans-Am and plate have also been tied to five other unpaid New York City tickets, prompting the museum to request a hearing to contest the violation.
The museum's car is innocent, but who is the real driver using the 'KNIGHT' plate across New York City?
