Justin Thomas and Keegan Bradley got into an animated on-course dispute with a PGA Championship official on the fourth hole after their group was put on the clock Friday.
Thomas said he, Bradley and Cameron Young objected because the delay came from the group ahead, not from them, citing wind, difficult pin placements and a crowded setup at Aronimink.
The pair pointed toward the group in front during the exchange, and Thomas said their group caught back up to the required pace on the very next hole.
Course conditions have made quick rounds unlikely: the field is 156 players, only 25 were under par at publication, and Aronimink's routing includes shared and crossing holes plus several long par-3s.
