Indiana court records show former teacher Torrie Lemon, 24, was sentenced to 40 days in jail or prison and 1,420 days of probation after pleading guilty to child seduction.
The case centered on a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old student that prosecutors said surfaced during an April 2025 school trip, when another student found explicit text messages on the teen’s phone.
Police said Lemon admitted having an inappropriate relationship, and court documents said the student described kissing on a field trip and sex at Lemon’s apartment on school grounds.
The investigation also drew in the student’s parents: her father told investigators he knew of physical contact but did not report it because he feared harming Lemon’s career.
Lemon, a former Colonial Christian School kindergarten teacher, still faced sentencing Friday in Marion County on two additional child seduction charges tied to the same investigation.
