Friday’s move sends Max Fried to the 15-day injured list after scans and an exam by team physician Dr. Chris Ahmad found a left elbow bone bruise.
Three innings into Wednesday’s 7-0 loss at Baltimore, Fried exited with elbow soreness that he said left him tight between innings and struggling to get fully loose.
More tests in the coming weeks will determine when Fried can resume throwing, leaving the Yankees without one of their starters for at least the next 15 days.
