Malik Nabers had a second knee procedure weeks ago to remove scar tissue that was causing stiffness after his ACL and meniscus surgery, according to multiple reports.
The cleanup operation is not expected to change the Giants receiver’s recovery schedule, and the team still hopes he can play Sept. 13 in Week 1 against Dallas.
Nabers, 22, tore his right ACL and meniscus on Sept. 28 against the Chargers, cutting short a strong sophomore start after 18 catches for 271 yards and two touchdowns in four games.
His return would be central for New York’s reshaped offense around rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart after Wan’Dale Robinson left and the Giants added Darnell Mooney, Calvin Austin III, Malachi Fields and Isaiah Likely.
