May 15 marks the start of REI Co-op’s annual anniversary sale, which runs through May 25 and is billed as the outdoor retailer’s biggest sales event of the year.
More than 6,000 items are discounted by 25%, including gear from brands that rarely go on sale, while members get a separate 20% coupon for one full-price item.
That coupon can cut hundreds of dollars off higher-ticket purchases such as bikes and kayaks, extending the sale beyond the marked-down inventory.
Featured deals include 25% off Kelty camp furniture, Exped sleeping pads, Oboz and La Sportiva footwear, Smartwool socks and Petzl lighting, plus 30% off Landmark Project adult T-shirts.
