May 15 marks the Hulu debut of Lisa Ann Walter: It Was An Accident, the Abbott Elementary star’s first standup special after 37 years in comedy.
Philadelphia’s Helium Comedy Club hosted the taping last summer at a sold-out show, a venue Walter chose because Philly crowds “don’t fake it” and had backed her for years.
Monday night in New York, friends, family and Abbott Elementary co-stars celebrated the release as Walter said the milestone felt “almost four decades in the making.”
Walter’s special arrives amid a broader career surge: Abbott Elementary is heading into season 6, and she is making her off-Broadway debut in Heathers.
