India users in Google’s Phone app and Play Services beta programs have started seeing Pixel’s Take a Message feature, marking its first reported availability in that market.
The rollout appears tied to a server-side switch alongside beta releases, matching clues from an APK teardown earlier this week that flagged India as part of a broader expansion.
Take a Message lets unanswered calls trigger a voicemail prompt and shows a real-time transcript on screen, helping users judge urgency and screen spam from unknown numbers.
The feature is currently offered on Pixel 6 and newer phones in Australia, Canada, Ireland, the UK and the US, with code also pointing to wider regional and possible non-Pixel expansion.
Google has not officially announced the India launch, and there are no confirmed reports yet of rollout to other new markets or non-Pixel devices.
