Bolt agreed with Dongfeng Motor Group to roll out an electric-vehicle fleet in South Africa, with Yugo Rides set to manage the operation.
South Africa is Bolt’s biggest African market, where the Sequoia Capital-backed ride-hailing company already holds more than 50% share.
Simo Kalajdzic, Bolt’s local operations manager, said the company spent about $180 million building out the business, giving the EV push a large existing base.
