Honor Showcases 200MP Robot Phone at Cannes as Q1 Shipments Growth Hits 19%

Honor used Cannes Film Festival's China Night to demonstrate its AI-powered Robot Phone, saying the device with a fold-out robotic camera arm will launch in the third quarter.
The 200-megapixel handset can autonomously track subjects, stabilize video, and analyze emotions and body language to respond conversationally, part of Honor's push to bring professional imaging to smartphones.
ARRI's image science is being integrated into a consumer device for the first time through the partnership, linking Honor's mobile imaging with the cinema camera maker's technology and 20 Academy scientific and technical awards.
Omdia said Honor's smartphone shipments grew 19% year on year in the first quarter of 2026, the fastest among the top 10 vendors, while its Middle East and Africa shipments doubled.
That overseas momentum follows Honor's milestone of getting more than 50% of sales abroad in 2025 and underpins its 2026 pivot toward an AI-powered device ecosystem.
