Sinead O’Moore said she bought AirTags for her two children, aged 5 and 8, before a family trip to Rome so she could track them on her phone in case they were separated.
A nightmare in which her 5-year-old was kidnapped by a tour group pushed her to act, after worries about navigating a city packed with thousands of tourists.
O’Moore said she normally gives her children freedom at playgrounds, pools and beaches, but saw crowded city travel as a different risk.
The podcast host said she attaches the tags to the children’s backpacks, letting her use Apple’s Find My app to locate them immediately if they go missing.
