Ronda Rousey used Thursday’s Los Angeles press conference to reject Khamzat Chimaev’s claim that she was ungrateful to UFC, saying her loyalty remains with Dana White and the Fertittas, not TKO’s UFC.
The 39-year-old tied that rebuttal to her broader criticism of UFC leadership, again blaming chief business officer Hunter Campbell for keeping her Gina Carano fight out of the promotion.
Saturday’s Netflix-backed MVP main event marks Rousey’s first MMA bout since her 2016 loss to Amanda Nunes, while Carano is returning after a 17-year absence.
Rousey said the fight could reset women’s pay in combat sports and even help build a Netflix-backed rival to UFC that gives fighters more bargaining power.
